Procurement

Procurement for JT-60SA formally is carried out by two "implementing Agencies", the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) for Japan, and Fusion for Energy (F4E) for Europe. Procurement arrangements for each major item of procurement are concluded between these two bodies and the Project Team, with the involvement of the EU and JA Home Teams.

In practice European procurement for JT-60SA is carried out through voluntary contributions from a number of countries within Euratom, as well as by Euratom itself directly through F4E. The TF coils and structure are provided jointly by France and Italy, high temperature current leads by Germany, the main cryostat by Spain, magnet power supplies by France and Italy, the cryoplant by France, ECRF power supplies by Switzerland, and the TF coil test facility by France, Belgium and Switzerland. The TF coil conductor is procured by F4E.
