The ‘Satellite Tokamak Program (STP)’ is building and operating a fusion energy experiment, JT-60SA, in Naka, Japan in a collaboration between Japan and Europe under the framework of the “Broader Approach Agreement” (EN/JP). The implementing agency for Japan is QST (National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology), and for Europe is F4E (European Joint Undertaking for ITER and the Development of Fusion Energy).

The Agreement is managed by a Steering Committee.  A Project Committee advises the Steering Committee on the project status. The project is carried out by an Integrated Project Team.
